Super Dilla Sunday!

Jamesy Yancey aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla aka Dilla Dawg would have turned 36 today. While he left us with an unparalleled musical legacy, it's sad to think of how many more classics we would have been blessed with in the past 4 years. Happy birthday to one of the best that ever did it.

If you wish to actively celebrate the legacy, please check the J-Dilla Foundation (which helps fund music programs in inner-city shools) or you can also cop the Ma Dukes/Parra One/Stones Throw collab tee (of which proceeds will go to help Lupus research - the disease that took Dilla, and which is now threatening his mother, Maureen Yancey aka Ma Dukes)

And as a special treat, here's 5 Dilla joints that I think might be a little harder to find or for some reason went underappreciated. Enjoy!

J-88 - Stupid Lies (Prod. BY J Dilla), taken from The Best Kept Secret

Jay Dee - Move (Prod. By J Dilla), B-side of the Fuck Tha Police 12"

Back in Oklahoma, people feelin it alot.

Dude, my friends rule.

Check the teaser video for the upcoming Johnny Polygon album/mixtape, Rebel Without Applause (Out Feb. 14th).

Can i get a +1? I got my ego with me.

If you haven't already, I highly recommend grabbing my homie Emilio Rojas' mixtape, The Natural, hosted and overseen by DJ Green Lantern. This kid's stock is rising quickly and I predict a few majors will come knocking shortly.

Check the new new new remix of the lead single, Bold & Arrogant (prod. by M-Phazes) featuring some insano verses from Styles P & Asher Roth (including a clean version for all you DJs out there)

Nobody beats the Diz

I know this came out way back in April, but the homie Jon Master recently reminded me of this Diz Gibran mixtape and how DAMN good it is! Somehow I feel this went largely unnoticed, so in case you missed it the first time around, like I did, you should now check it.
